Wood Township is a township located in Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania. As of the 2000 census, the township had a total population of 713.

Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 42.6 km² (16.4 mi²). 42.6 km² (16.4 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.

Demographics

As of the census of 2000, there are 713 people, 277 households, and 206 families residing in the township. The population density is 16.8/km² (43.4/mi²). There are 383 housing units at an average density of 9.0/km² (23.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the township is 99.30% White, 0.00% African American, 0.14% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.28% from other races, and 0.28% from two or more races. 0.70% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 277 households out of which 34.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 61.0% are married couples living together, 7.6% have a female householder with no husband present, and 25.3% are non-families. 23.1% of all households are made up of individuals and 10.1% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older.
