Saga

In Norse mythology, Saga is a goddess of the Aesir, maybe another name for Frigg. She was a goddess of poetry and history.

She lives in Sokkvabekkr[?], "hall of the sunk benches" (a ship?).

The name could mean "seeing one" or (less probable) "announcer".

In literature, a saga is a story which can be extended over more than a work, typically in the form of an epic poem or one or more novels usually aligned on a subject that follows the evolution of a family or a social group. See Sagas

Saga is a prefecture of Japan, see Saga prefecture.

Saga was emperor of Japan from 809 till 823, see Emperor Saga of Japan

Saga[?] is also a district in Saga, Japan.
