Orangevale is a town located in Sacramento County, California. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 26,705.

Geography

Orangevale is located at 38°40'55" North, 121°12'50" West (38.681903, -121.213824)¹.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 26.3 km² (10.2 mi²). 26.0 km² (10.0 mi²) of it is land and 0.3 km² (0.1 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 1.28% water.

Demographics

As of the census of 2000, there are 26,705 people, 9,856 households, and 7,116 families residing in the town. The population density is 1,028.0/km² (2,663.5/mi²). There are 10,098 housing units at an average density of 388.7/km² (1,007.2/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 89.52% White, 1.13% African American, 1.04% Native American, 2.46% Asian, 0.19% Pacific Islander, 1.69% from other races, and 3.99% from two or more races. 6.80% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 9,856 households out of which 34.6% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 55.3% are married couples living together, 11.5% have a female householder with no husband present, and 27.8% are non-families. 21.0% of all households are made up of individuals and 7.1% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older.
