Newark Liberty International

Newark Liberty International is located in Newark, New Jersey and serves the New York, New York metro-region. It is hub to Continental Airlines and has the IATA Code EWR.

Newark Liberty started out as Newark International Airport, as the first New York City area Airport. On September 11, 2001, United Airlines Flight 93, which was on its way between Newark and San Francisco, crashed in Pennsylvania, due to a passenger uprising against terrorist hijackers who wanted to crash Flight 93 into the White House or the Capitol in Washington D.C.

Because of the display of heroism, Newark Airport was renamed Newark Liberty Airport.

Newark Liberty gets mostly connecting passengers, since most of the local order and demand goes to La Guardia Airport.

Newark Liberty International Airport has three Terminals.
