Loa, Utah

Loa is a town located in Wayne County, Utah. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 525. It is the county seat of Wayne County⁶.

Geography

Loa is located at 38°24'10" North, 111°38'38" West (38.402854, -111.643900)¹.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 2.3 km² (0.9 mi²). 2.3 km² (0.9 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.

Demographics

As of the census of 2000, there are 525 people, 165 households, and 134 families residing in the town. The population density is 230.3/km² (595.5/mi²). There are 203 housing units at an average density of 89.1/km² (230.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 99.24% White, 0.00% African American, 0.38% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.38% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.00% from two or more races. 1.71% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 165 households out of which 46.1% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 74.5% are married couples living together, 3.6% have a female householder with no husband present, and 18.2% are non-families. 16.4% of all households are made up of individuals and 10.3% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 3.14 and the average family size is 3.56.
