Fosse Way

Fosse Way was a Roman road in England which linked Exeter on the English Channel coast of southwest England, to Lincoln in the English east midlands, via Bath and Leicester. At Lincoln the Fosse way linked to another Roman road called Ermine Street.

The road was an important part of the road network the Romans built during their occupation of Britain, See Roman Britain

Many parts of the road still exist and are still used, especialy the part between Leicester and Lincoln which is now called the A46. South of Leicester much of the road still exists and forms parts of modern roads but there are many gaps.
